Satirical books are hard to find. And when you find one based on apocalyptic time then there is no turning back. Got recommendations for this book by many readers and finally thought of reading it. Good omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett is a hilarious novel. Ok, not laughing-out-loud funny but like a small giggle and a smile through out the read funny. The only caution I would give before you start reading this novel is to be open-minded. If you are a fanatic, you might end up disappointed.
Good omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett Review
There are books that make you think. There are books that make you laugh. And then there are book that make you think while you are laughing. There are two authors who are excellent at this. Neil Gaiman and Terry Prachett. What happens when both of them come together to write a book that they both would enjoy reading? Awesomeness happens.
Good omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett is brilliantly funny while also being a piercing commentary on Good, Evil, humanity and society in general. What happens when an angel and a demon entrusted with responsibility of heralding the apocalypse decide that they like humans actually and try to stop the apocalypse? Hilarity ensues. Oh also the Antichrist is somehow misplaced. Because even agents of hell are sometimes incompetent.
This is a book that teaches that angels and demons are also surprisingly human and that humans are also both surprisingly divine and demonic. This is a quirky dive into the world of christian myth and imagery coupled with mundane every day happenings and small town charm.
